Best cooking ways for better health


Better health is something that everybody wants, but it is not very easy to attain and maintain good health unless you take good care of your body. By cooking your food at home, you can get better control over the quality and quantity of ingredients you use in your cooking. In that way, you can have completely fat free and less spicy food providing all the nutrients that are best for your health. Here are some cooking methods that can help you in retaining the nutritive value of your food.

Steaming

Steaming is done by placing your food to be cooked in a specially designed pot that traps the steam inside that is used for cooking the food. Pressure cooker is the best utensil for steam cooking. Steaming is a faster and better way of cooking as it preserves all the nutrition of the food within as there is very less time taken for cooking. Also, there is no escape of heat; hence it is also an efficient method for cooking food. It is best to steam food items of same size and texture to get the best results.
 


Stewing

To make a stew, you need a closed pot put on a stove. The best thing about stewing is that you don’t need any fat to be added to cook food, making it a healthier way of cooking. For hard vegetables such as carrots or pumpkin, you might need to add some water, but no fat is required. For food items that high in water content, no additional water is needed such as tomatoes, etc. Stewing takes a bit longer time, but if you cut vegetables in small pieces, it will take lesser time.

Microwave

Microwave is a revolutionary invention and is a blessing for those who want fat free diet. When you cook food in microwave, you can easily cook it within controlled temperature limits and without adding any fat to your recipe. Also, it takes very less time for cooking; hence all the nutrition is retained in the food making it a much healthier way of cooking than frying or roasting.
